I studied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. After that I was Research Assistant at the University of Augsburg and Technical University of Munich. From 1996-2000 I was Editor in Chief of the German Linux Magazine (now with localized editions in UK, Poland, Romania and Brazil). I am also the Cofounder of the Linux New Media AG and switched to IBM in 2001, where I work as a Linux IT Architect. Last but not least I am the IBM representative in the GNOME Foundation Advisory Board. As EMEA Linux Desktop Leader my main focus is right now ... the Linux Desktop
