libwnck Roadmap
Maintainers:
HavocPennington (has mostly been commenting bugs lately)
MarkMcLoughlin (has not been active lately)
What are your plans for GNOME 2.24 (next 4 months, before feature and UI freezes)?
change WnckWorkspace so that it transparently handle virtual desktops and viewport the same way (ie, make it work in compiz and in metacity as expected). This would mean addition of WnckVirtualDesktop and WnckViewport, I guess. Need some more thoughts.
- work on the API so we can try to stabilize it and declare it "stable"
- maybe improve a bit the API doc (write a tutorial, eg)
What are your plans for GNOME 2.26 (next year)?
- metacity and libwnck nearly have the same code for a few things. Make it easier to synchronize this code between the two [originally planned for 2.22, but more difficult than expected, so let's say it's for 2.24]
- see if we can add some nice visual effects here and there
Do you have plans for a future release?
No.
Do you have any goals from 2.22 that were not achieved? Why?
Nearly all the big items that are now planned for 2.24 I was too busy with life during the 2.21 cycle.
Is there something that is really missing in our infrastructure or platform that would help you?
No.
Do you have plans to work on other modules not maintained by you? What are they?
VincentUntz: Well, I have lots of ideas, but I have no time. So no I'll open bugs, though.
Do you have any GNOME-wide goals suggestions for the next releases?
VincentUntz: Make user-visible changes. Sexy stuff. Also, at some point, it'd be great to concentrate on fixing bugs: bugzilla is getting more and more bugs. We need more people.
