This project intends to overhaul the Shotwell slideshow.

1. Other software

The main inspiration for this project is Picasa and iPhoto.

2. Features

The main features to implement are:

• Transition effects
• Background music
• Show image captions (optionally edit them)
• Allow exporting slideshows as videos

3. Implementation

The implementation so far will be composed of Clutter for the slideshow and transition effects, with a plugins API for transitions and GStreamer for background music and exporting.
