1.3. Reports

Notes from the GStreamer Summer Hackfest 2015 by Luis de Bethencourt

1.4. How to get there

The coworkin'montpellier space is located in the center of town: 19 Rue de l'Ecole de Droit, 34000 Montpellier

You can get there from anywhere in Montpellier on foot or by tram.

1.4.1. Flying to Montpellier Airport (MPL)

There is a regular shuttle which brings you from Montpellier Airport to the "Place de l'Europe" tram/bus station. More details here : http://www.montpellier.aeroport.fr/en/acces-a-l-aeroport/en-transports-publics

From there you can take a tram (Lines 1 and 4) to the rest of Montpellier

1.4.2. TGV High-speed train

1.4.3. Transportation in Montpellier

Montpellier is the 8th biggest city in France, but the venue and most lodging/food/bars are in the center of town which can be done by foot.

The TAM (Transport de l'agglomeration de Montpellier) has 4 tram lines and a few bus lines. A single ticket is 1.50EUR, and a 10-trip ticket is 10EUR. You can share the 10-trip ticket amongst several people.

Note that the bus from the airport is *not* part of that network, it's part of the regional transportation service (Transport de l'Herault). The prices are similar, but you won't be able to use the tickets on the other network. Just get a single (or return) ticket if you come from the airport.

1.5. Accommodation and food

Accomodation should be booked soon. Montpellier is a touristic place in the heart of summer.

Food and drinks : no shortage of eating/drinking venues in the Ecusson (center of town).

The "Estivales" take place every Friday evening during summer. Drinks, food, music, all under the Platanes : http://www.ot-montpellier.fr/en/diary/les-estivales-in-montpellier-5772.html

1.5.1. Previous discussions, organization threads, drafts, relevant links, etc
