Collecting photos
One of the Engagement team's main tasks is to help collect photos of GNOME activities in order to promote the brand and awareness of GNOME. This page details some ways that we are doing this.
When requesting photos from the community, please send them a link to our How to Submit Photos to GNOME page.
Curated Photos
These are photos that the Engagement team has gone through and personally selected. These photos are recommended to be used in the various promotional items that we make for GNOME. These photos have the following characteristics:
- Selected by engagement team
- Includes proper licensing documentation
Organized on NextCloud
Available on the wiki under "Internal Resources"
Community Albums
These are albums that where we encourage people to upload to. By uploading, they allow us to use the photos under CC-BY-SA by default, unless they select something else. Photos uploaded to these community albums have the following characteristics:
- Default CC-BY-SA licensing
- Quantity over quality of photos
Individual Albums
We can't expect everyone to share their photos the same way. People often like to send us links to their photo albums, or places where they have posted photos. These photos have the following characteristics:
- Shared by the photographers on their own accounts
- May not have a license assigned
- May have mixed quality shots
- May not solely be GNOME-related
