Stack Overflow is a programming question and answer site, and they're asking for open source projects looking for developers to create ads which will be shown for free. Blog post outlining the idea, Submission location and guidelines:
- The image that you create must be 220px by 220px
- Can be hosted anywhere (tinypic, twitpic, your blog); we will mirror the image locally when we serve it.
- Must be GIF or PNG
- No animated GIFs
- Absolute limit on filesize of ~150kb
Christy responds: I noticed this request, checked, and sure enough the free ad program is still in effect. I created an ad, submitted it, and quickly received the requisite number of votes to approve the ad. It was suggested by one of the voters that I should also run the ad on 2 other stackexchange forums: unix & linux, and on Ask ubuntu. Im happy to do so if the community agrees to it. Thanks!
