I like it, but it is sadly non free (NC). Not that we require that clause to be waived to be able to use it in our context as we're promoting a non-profit project, but I don't think we should endorse non free content. -- AlexandreFranke

Spring has come to the northern hemisphere and so has a new release of GNOME!
This release, we are bringing you new streamlined theming and a better development experience.
Several applications have been been revamped, for example GNOME's image viewer, which now features new user interface controls. Files has also received some love, with simplified popover menus and an improved file view.
GNOME 3.16 also brings new visuals to GNOME Shell. This includes the activities overview, the application menu and the system menu.
GNOME Shell also provides an improved design of the notification system. These improvements aim to make notifications in GNOME more discoverable, but also easy to get out of your way.
This cycle features three new GNOME apps.
One of them is a preview of GNOME Calendar, an app which aims to assist you in planning ahead. GNOME Calendar integrates with your online accounts, so you can take your calendar with you on the go.
This release also features a preview of GNOME books, a new application to fulfill your book-reading needs.
Furthermore, this release brings a preview of Builder, a new application for developers. Builder is an IDE aiming to improve the developer experience on GNOME. Thanks to more than 500 funders the project was succesfully crowd-funded. If you want to help improve the developer experience too, visit the crowdfunding campaign in the description below.
GTK+ also aims to improve the development experience this cycle, with many improvements to the GtkInspector, support for OpenGL and a Mir backend.
Finally GNOME 3.16 ships an improved glib, aiming to make life much easier for C developers.
The new GNOME release is available for you as a Live Image to try now. GNOME 3.16 will be shipped by many distributions in the near future.

I think those who are Builder's target group knows, though and "integrated development environment" might be a tad hard to pronounce for the voiceover

Don't know, might be a personal preference but I'd rather promote GNOME as a technology because our code base have so diverse uses and often used by others to build software on top off. Other opinions welcome. -BastianIlsø
Still think using "software" makes more sense here, one alternative would be to just state "GNOME is made by people for people."

I don't think the changes in gdk-pixbuf are really worth mentioning. I'd much rather see g_autoptr and G_OBJECT_DECLARE_TYPE in glib called out - those will really make the life of developers much easier (admittedly, C programmers only).
There's also gnome-books, which is another new application, so we have 4 in total
- Maps now supports check-ins (if that was already part of 3.14, then at least foursquare checkins are new).
- There has been some other cool new developments in Maps too so would be nice to include that.
Would be even more lovely if Boxes was featured for the first time in these videos.
- If you want to show what is new in Maps I propose having a contact with an address added (maybe through GOA) and searching for it in Maps, then pressing route button to get a route from your current location to the contact. It will show much of what is new in Maps, and is quick. -jonasdn
