1. Scanner API
1.1. Redesign a new API for Scanner OR writting a new GUI front-end for libsane
Please fix me if i am wrong, I encountered poor performance with libsane (compared to TWAN on Windows). So i am just wondering if we can come up with a new project writing a GNOME friendly API for Scanner Access?
And if writing the new API is not essential, how about redesign or writting new GUI front-end for libsane. The xsane is a bit alienated from GNOME HIG.
Question: As I've known, printing dialog in gtk is now supported, what about scanning interface dialog??
ÉtienneBersac: GNOME Scan UI is a SoC 2006 project. And will build real GNOME frontend to sane. See GnomeScan . ÉtienneBersac: Some work on OCR will be done by EmmanuelFleury and his students in the followiing month.
